LUZZATTO, OSCAR (Udine, 1873 - Udine, 1964)
Doctor, Writer
Oscar Luzzatto was born from the Jewish family of Luzzatto of Udine and he graduated in medicine in Florence in 1896. During his life, he practiced his profession in his hometown. Because of the anti-Jewish persecutions, in 1943 he found shelter in Switzerland. He was also interested in the literary field: indeed, he wrote the indexes of the first series of “La Panarie” magazine (1924-1949). After the racial dispositions, the works of art owned by the family were transported to the Civic Museums of Udine thanks to Someda de Marco.
