BRUSIN, GIOVANNI BATTISTA (Aquileia, 1883 - Aquileia, 1976)
Director of the Archaeological Museum of Aquileia, Historian, Archivist
Giovanni Battista Brusin held the position of Director of the Archaeological Museum of Aquileia from 1922 to 1952. He was also Archeological Superintendent for the geographical area of the Three Venices, a member of the Germanic Archaeological Institute and academician of the Lincei Academy. His numerous studies concerned the Roman and Christian period of Aquileia.
In 1944, he appeared with Antonino Rusconi as a delegate of the Ministry of National Education with the responsibility of the possible transfer of Friulian artworks to a safe place (without the interference of the local Superintendency).
