FRANCO, FAUSTO (Vicenza, 1899 - Venezia, 1968)
Superintendent of Monuments and Galleries of Venezia Giulia and Friuli, Architect
The Architect and Engineer Fausto Franco was Superintendent of Monuments and Galleries of Trieste from 1939 to 1952, including the provinces of Pola and Fiume; from 1953 to 1955 he held the same position in Veneto. After the German surrender, in the immediate post-war period he took care of the reconstruction of the historical-artistic heritage of Venezia Giulia.
During the Second World War he worked hard to protect works of art, collaborating with Carlo Someda de Marco and with Walter Frodl, Director of the Abteilung Denkmalschutz of the Adriatic Littoral.
